Maybe you’re also the free-spirited traveler who feels a bit lost (but then remembers how much you love to wander); who loves waking up in a new culture with nothing more than a few shirts, something to capture the trip with (like a pen or a Lomo 35 mm film camera, silver), and a vision to pursue some creative project; or spontaneously craft your day based on nothing more than mood, cheap coffee, intuition and curiosity; the anti-itinerary suits you well…
Aimless and lost are states to be loved, to find love…a true way to authentic discovery; the more you explore, the more dots you may connect in more “hm, interesting” ways; so follow your intuition and curiosity, try things to see what happens, study randomly, live romantically, leave the book unfinished and task switch the night away. Stumble, with a smile; then look back and realize the lightyears you’ve traveled, the artifacts you’ve collected, and the insights that came from within that no single book or source could have taught. Have a North Star, or a few——but leave the compass for the moon.
No Compass isn’t about never arriving anywhere, it’s about embracing the journey over the destination and leaning into the unexpected. But maybe Jackson Pollock said it better: “Something in me knows where I'm going…”
